Discover a comfortable home without draining your wallet!
Ductless heating and cooling allows you to take control of your home’s environment, and improve the overall efficiency of your home. You can now separate your home into zones and control each separately depending on the needs of the person using the room, or the times that the room is in use. Ductless mini splits give you the flexibility to control the climates of each zone in your house.
Not only are ductless mini splits more energy efficient but they are typically less expensive to install, easier to maintain, and offer a wide variety of options from single zone, to multi-zone climate control, and allergen filtration.
What exactly is ductless?
Ductless is a quiet, energy efficient, and easy to use heating and air conditioning solution for older homes, homes with renovations or additions, cape-cod style homes, or for homes without ductwork installed. Ductless, also known as mini split units are usually very easily installed and consist of two main parts. The heat pump or compressor, which sits outside the home and the indoor unit or blower, which is typically hung high on the wall.
The heat pump that is installed outside is not the typical outdoor unit that you may be used to seeing. This outdoor unit is much smaller than most and is very quiet compared to that old clunky, boxy heat pump or compressor that most homes have. This part of the system is hooked up to the indoor unit(s) with a copper refrigerant line and is hidden with a decorative shielding that your technician will try to match to blend in with your house.
The indoor unit, or units are usually hung high on the wall and are connected to the outside with that refrigerant line as mentioned before. The indoor unit doesn’t require any ductwork be installed, or any large holes cut out for new vents. They are instead, simply hung on the wall and use the air already in the room to circulate through the blower and pump back out the heated or cooled air into the same room. This allows you the power to control each room individually and be able to control your energy bills by monitoring each room in your home based on usage.
Ductless air conditioning and heating is a great way to take over the temperature control of your home and set up temperature ‘zones’ to save you the most money possible. Check out the options available to you and what type of installation would best fit your needs.
